The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree...
A little about us...
Our friends call us "the crazy ones" for a reason. Kevin and I met about five years ago at NC State University through a mutual friend. This is where we realized that our craziness matched up and we've been going strong ever since. Exactly like this Dr.Seuss quote:
"We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them in mutual weirdness and call it love."
We got married 3.5 years ago and since then have been blessed with a beautiful one-year-old daughter, Kennedy Grace. She has such a cute little personality and seems to be picking up on everything so quick! People always tell you that time goes by quick, so live in the moment. I guess I never really realized how true that was until this past year with K.Grace. God has really blessed us with her.
We rarely have spare time between both working full-time, Kevin at the University and me as a Program Coordinator at an insurance company, but as soon as we hit 7:30 bedtime for K, we are in the garage trying to figure out what exciting new item we can create. The whole Rustic Raleigh thing started actually by making two blanket ladders for family. We had so much fun working together and were doing something semi-active. Well.. more-so than what we normally did-- sit around and watch anything on tv. We have had some practice making our own furniture-- from a dining room table and bench, to pallet bookshelves and a sawhorse desk. I had such a hard time finding Farmhouse furniture that wasn't ridiculously expensive in the Raleigh area, so we thought why not try this thing out! It's fun, we love it, and I'm getting to play with power tools! I have actually asked for my own nail gun as a gift... Talk about crazy, right?!
Anyways, we are super excited to see where this path God has paved for us leads. All we can do is follow.
Cheers to keeping Raleigh rustic!
XOXO,
Brittany and Kevin
